Who we are

A charity for Queen's Park & Charminster

Where

A representative charitable body for the residents of Queen's Park and Charminster, a ward of BCP Council. With charitable status, we can access grant funding and run community fundraising events that would otherwise be impossible.

Mandate

Our Trustees are local people who live and breathe the daily good, and bad, of our ward, enabling understanding and empathy for our needs. We provide an informal, yet structured, conduit to raise and address community concerns and opportunities with BCP Council.

Regulated

We are regulated by a constitution lodged with the UK Charity Commission, and operate under a community agreed mandate which is reviewed annually.

Volunteers

The charity is run by a wonderful group of local volunteers, and together we proactively address and resolve a variety of community concerns.

What we do

  • We are a beacon for positive change within our community, knowing that together we can make a difference.
  • We listen to our community, find acceptable resolution to issues, and move to action.
  • We proactively work with our ward councillors to engage with the council on community-driven initiatives to maintain and improve our shared local environment.
  • By collaborating with local business, grant bodies and sponsors we aim to create and nurture a thriving local community and economy.
  • We are actively working with the police and council to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.
